OH

Ohh...and what is up with this NEW XANGA SETUP.... (probably not new for most people...) but I like Xanga strictly for blogging...It will take me sometime to use Xanga for "myspacing" ....(if that makes sense)

Old Post ...never got to put on Xanga!

Well...I've a got a lot of catching up to do...I also want to show off all my crazy pics from my roadtrip across north america....Here is a sneak peek...

Anyway,  as I was cleaning out my computer and desk the other day right before my last work, I saw this old post dated March 1, 2006. I use to blog on MS Word at work when I got bored ..and so I wouldn't get caught on xanga....

By the way...yes I start my new job at Boeing Huntington Beach tomorrow (08/25/06)....gonna be exciting!!! I'll explain one day!

===============================================

Well, here is my post before my current post (does that make sense?)...

Quarterly Journal (March 1, 2006)

 Life Sucks!

 Snowboarding

Big Bear – 2

Mountain High – 5

Wish this season could be better! Anyone need a board. I’ve been so lazy with selling my old snowboard. I also got new bindings that are pretty nice, but I’m debating whether I like them more than my old ones..grr!

Preparing for the Associate Safety Professional Exam

Geez. With all this money I’ve spent, I better pass. The workshop in Las Vegas, the UCI extension class I’m taking, study guide and safety books, ASSE membership fee, application fee, and examination fees out of my own pocket. It’s probably enough for a down payment for a car. I’m probably overdoing it but I really want to kick ass on that exam and I actually want to learn new stuff.

 =============

 Work is sucking ass

I’ve been trying to hold off from quitting until I pass the ASP exam this June, but I’m just really growing tired of false hopes. I’m sure they will take me in, eventually; I just don’t care to wait so damn long anymore. Plus, I don’t see much growth in the near future. A lot of people here have been telling me to get out for so long and how bad it is over here, but I hate to give up. To be honest, unless your engineer or got some connections, I DON’T RECOMMEND WORKING FOR THE LA COUNTY SANITATION DISTRICTS! They abuse the temporary worker program to the bone and make no effort to commend you for your accomplishments nor do they encourage professional development, although they advertise they do. I’ve spent like $4,000-5000 in professional development what not out of my own pocket. Other places would’ve covered at least some of this. Here, even if I’m hired, most likely none of it is covered. So, once again I’m in a dead spot and I have decided to throw in the towel and move on, whether or not they make me an offer (unless it’s a high position they offer me – DOUBTFUL). Geez..I hate when somebody else is right.

Grr! I saw an opening at Boeing and now its gone! I’ll be applying to the LAUSD though. Anybody knows any good Environmental, Health and Safety Positions available. Let me know!

Holiday Season

Well, it came and went. As I get older, I realize how much we lose interest in the joys of this time. This was indeed one of the most expensive Christmases for me cuz I made sure that every cousin and kid in the family received a gift this year. And, I actually spent a little time on it this year. It wasn’t just $5 gift cards, I spent a little more time and money than that for everybody, considering we young people don’t get that much gifts anymore and we didn’t do our usual cousin gift exchange. The New Year’s party was at my house again and it was fun. Note: Don’t purchase too much alcohol. Only 25% of it was gone, which was kinda sad, cuz I was hoping we’d have a little “extra” fun.

For the most part, life has been decent. Sadly, I did not throw any party during my parent’s three-week vacation. It would’ve been the perfect time to go nuts alone at my house. But still, I’ve been keeping busy pretty much every weekend. It keeps me from putting a bullet in my head. I always have the cousins’ crew to kick it with when I’ve got nothing else to do. I do miss the old school days when I could care less about what day it is and go out any night. The old M-F 7-4 really kills it.

AHH!! I’ve been purposely avoiding it for years! But, after my cuz showed some profiles of some ppl I haven’t seen since the ice ages, I may finally join myspace. Geez… I’m really late on this bandwagon. I use to hate it because I would see my sister and all these people on it constantly wasting time. Probably no more friends left to add! But if you see me and my only friend Tom, please do add me …haha!

Avenue Q for the second time was also good! Woohoo. Also, go get the RENT DVD.

OMG!! HAS IT BEEN THAT LONG? AHHH!

Well, sorry guys, I was on a 4 month adventure in the Galapagos Islands searching for the lost treasure of Afababwa! I climbed the greats walls of daboo daboo, biked through the forest of the dancing wolf, wrestled with pygmies from the land of midgetos, escaped from the evil hands of Lord Shumoko, and rescued the young hot maiden from the land of Jessicalbania.

At the same time, I also did all this boring crap:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

LOST Vegas

Actually, this was way back in the summer. On top of gambling losses, buying expensive sunglasses that I have forever lost, paying for about 7-9 meals twice a day, 7-9 club entrances, and circus circus midway games for 7-9 ppl, it was actually fun going with my all my cousins and family friends to Vegas. Well, the meals were buffets (GOOD Buffets!) for only $2-$3 each and we had two big ass suites - FREE! So, if you want to head to Vegas for a bargain, you know who to invite. Not my parents, ass. ME! Let me also say that there are things to do besides circus circus for under 21 ppl, you just have to look around!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

BEACH! BEAYATCH!

I actually went to the beach!.... About a dozen times this summer or every weekend. I use to hate going there, but for some reason this summer was different. Mostly been boogie boardin, don't think I'm ready for the surf boards, probably never be. Its a bitch though when that tide brings you down or when you cramp up (Yes! 3 times! I'm such a dork.). I think I've also become the master at beach bonfires. The only thing I missed this summer at the beach was sitting around the fire with someone on the guitar and everyone singin...boohoo

----------------------------------------------------------------------

CAMP. OPERATION BEAR ATTACK!

Went camping with the church and expected utter boringness, especially since a whole mess of people bailed out. I figured also at a christian camp they'd be all strict and over nicey dicey. But it was actually fun! Went Rock wall climbing, row boating, hardcore mountain (scraped my ass cheeks and fell three times) biking, swimming, flew across on a zip line 50-100 feet in the air. A bear also came by our cabin and went through all the trashcans. It was so hilarious cuz my 30yr somethin old cuz got paranoid and wouldn't let any1 leave the dining hall until security came. Place was actually real nice. We had our own private area, including a dining hall with unlimited average food and a server/cook, a worship area, our own bball courts and playground, and cabins, separated from all the other groups. Next time, I hope a whole mess of ppl come cuz shaddam...it was actually one of the best camps I've been to in a long time. Even had some SPOP games goin on.

CONCERTS

Video Games Live - I know. NERD ALERT NERD ALERT! Hey! It was a cultured festive event, performed by the LA philiharmonic orchestra. Naw! It was tight seeing all these ppl knowing all the songs and hearing the people play and sing all the songs from Nintendo, Sony, and Sega, among others.

Coldplay - So, their not one of my top five bands, but definitely one of the best live bands. And, it was free..although it took almost 4 hours to drive down to the end of San Diego. After, we headed to Mexico and well, i have to definitely say one of the most interesting...i wouldn't say good or not necessarily the most uneasiest experiences...  I've ever had. ...but like Vegas what goes on in Mexico stays in Mexico. Being detained at the border was fun too. Remember cuz..say ur a citizen ..not a resident.

Mae - Well, definitely a good live band, although their music gets me all depressed. Its weird though being with all these youngins in the crowd. It kinda me feel like an old fart. If you ever go watch them live, check out the keyboardist..hes pretty funny. (that'll be me in a few years when they go mainstream and I run him over with my truck)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WORK....Yeah.. I guess

So, last time I said i should be getting a raise. i even saw the request letter my boss had made to upper management. (yes I snoop!). well, they denied it those bastards! Only regular employees get special raises.  I'm actually hitting my one year mark this month, so I do get that AUTOMATIC raise....which pisses me off cuz some of the upper ppl make it seem like an honor when its just a std. thing that happens. i just about finished my big project...managing the Audiogram testing and partially the Hearing Conservation Program. I'm just afraid that I might not be growing too much anymore and plus I did promise myself I'd start really lookin around after my 1 year. If I stay, I think I'd eventually get a permanent tech position. But tech? TECH? are u serious. 2 degrees, for tech? i know some would kill for it, but I feel like a waste of my time goin to college. Plus ppl in the dept. have been tellin me they might be leavin soon...they don't like the big boss. hmm.. Idk if I should stick around. Well, got the ASP (associate safety professional) exam comin up soon. We'll see, got start fixing up that old resume!

------------------------------------------------------------

Other pathethic highlights from the last quarter:

* Knotts Scary Farm: Mazes, hordes of young ppl, good comedy show, long lines on rides, lazy monsters after 12AM, passing gas in line.

* Fav. Movies seen since last rambles: Wedding Crashers, Willy Wonka majiggy, A lotta of so-so movies I saw. nothing really crazy smack down wanna watch over and over kinda movie.

* VBS - Kids on the run....seriously...too many ppl poppin out kids these days...so many toddlers... fun slide show...sweet!

* PUSO Dinner reunion majigger: FOOD FOOD, where are all the youngins, 10 second clubbin, remember when game, till next year

* The notebook computer crash of 05' - Yes..the might laptop has given way, and I believe all the top secret data has been destroyed. Wahh! i did back it up about 6-7 months ago.

* Riverbed Run - Its not a snowboard trail - I've actually been running on the riverbed with my dog at an average 4 times a week for the last 3 months. I even got a new mp3 player since my Archos is too big to strap to my arm. One day, I'm gonna buy all the riverbums donuts...they're always under the bridges with their tents or bikes chillin, some drinkin alky.
